What are merchant payments in Subuk App?

Merchant payments allow you to pay businesses for goods or services purchased directly through the Subuk App, using their merchant alias or IBAN.

How can I make a payment to a merchant?

  • Log in to the Subuk App
  • Go to Hub MenuMerchant Payment
  • Select the payment method:
    • Merchant Alias (short name/code assigned to the merchant)
    • Merchant IBAN (24-character bank account number)
  • Enter the on-screen details
  • Review and confirm

What is a merchant alias?

A merchant alias is a short, unique name or code assigned to a business by the bank for quick payments so there’s no need to enter their full IBAN. It can be:

  • VPA (Virtual Payment Address)
  • Till Code
  • Free Text
  • Merchant ID

How do I make a payment using a merchant alias?

  • Log in to the Subuk App
  • Go to Hub MenuMerchant PaymentPay by Merchant Alias
  • Enter the alias exactly as provided by the merchant
  • Verify merchant details
  • Enter payment amount and confirm

Can I pay a merchant using their IBAN?

Yes. If the merchant shares their IBAN:

  • Go to Hub MenuMerchant PaymentPay by IBAN
  • Enter the IBAN and verify merchant details
  • Enter payment amount and confirm

What is ‘Request to Pay’ from a merchant?

Some merchants may send you a Request to Pay via Subuk App. You’ll receive a notification in the app under Pending Requests.

  • Open the request, verify details, and approve using your T-PIN
  • Once approved, the payment will be executed

Can I reject a merchant’s Request to Pay?

Yes. You can decline a merchant’s request from the Pending Requests screen if you don’t want to make the payment.
